Introduction
The recent karate seminar held in Ripon marked a significant milestone in our 30-year journey of Karate in the community.
It was a momentous occasion that brought together practitioners, instructors, and enthusiasts to celebrate the rich history and shared passion for karate.

Instructors and Classes
This collaboration was long overdue, considering that both instructors have been a mere 12 miles apart for the past three decades.
The seminar featured three classes that catered to various skill level.
First Class:
Matt Sensei opened the day with an all-grade session based on the kata Junro Sandan. Working on the principles of movement contained within the kata.
Second Class
Ady Sensei led a class on kata application, drawing from familiar katas to enhance understanding and practical application among the brown and black belt students
Third Class
Matt sensei Finished off the day with a class on Jiyu Kumite. This session delved into kumite positioning and setup, allowing students to refine their sparring techniques and strategies

Experience and Outcomes
All three classes fostered an environment of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. Students demonstrated a commendable attitude towards improving their skills, as they embraced the teachings of both instructors.
The day was filled with valuable insights and techniques, planting seeds for personal development in karate.
Appreciation and Dedication
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who travelled from across the country to participate in this event, especially on Mother’s Day. Your dedication and commitment to personal growth in karate exemplify the spirit of Karate.
Both Sensei Matt and Sensei Ady led by example, participating in each other’s classes and reinforcing the idea that one should always remain a student of karate, regardless of rank or experience.

Conclusion
The seminar not only commemorated 30 years of karate in Ripon but also laid the groundwork for future collaborations and events.
We look forward to building upon this success and continue to build on the relationship of both instructors to host this course on a more regular basis.
A special thank you to Matt Price Sensei, an exceptional Karate-ka and teacher, who made this day one of the most memorable in the history of our dojo.
