Kata Training Camp day 2
I didn’t think day 1 could be trumped, but day 2 of the England training camp has just done that.
After breakfast the squad had a leisurely walk to the dojo and started the days training with a brilliant Yoga session. The athletes were extremely focused in a different discipline to compliment their training. Breath work, strength and flexibility were covered.
The second session of the days training was kata rounds. We concentrated on presentation, performance and execution of the Kata.
After lunch we had time to visit Ripon Cathedral. This was a nice chance to take the athletes minds off training before re-focussing for the 3rd training session of the day.
This session was about putting the athletes under pressure with an audience in an intimate setting. The performances were very good showing high intensity, attitude whilst controlling the kata.
After a freshening up the squad had a reception with the local mayor and councillors. This was to acknowledge their achievements to date and to wish them the best of luck for the commonwealth championships.
The day finished with a banquet at the accommodation social room.
The athletes and coaches would like to congratulate Rohan on his results that received whilst on the camp
A very busy day for athletes and coaches. All will sleep well ready for the final day of preparations.
